TBH this is all way above my head. So keeping any reply simple would be appreciated.
I shot a video on the 5D3 in alli 1920x1080/24p PAL. I edited it for colour and lightness using PE12. Then I went to publish and saw a massive bunch of options - completely lost! TBH.

I want to save it to play on a PC windows 7 and other peoples PCs innthe highest quality possible.
As I read in my manual the 5D3 compression is MPEG-4 H.264 , when I saw AVCHD MPEG4 1920 x 1080/24p Imselected that. I noticed the file size jumped from 386MB to 866MB ( the test bit ) which is fine.but is this "saved" in the highest quality.?

I used Windows Media aplayer to open it and it looked OK.

I do have a bluray burner on this Laptop and a bluray player so for future believe I can save it to burn a bluray disc and PE12 could see my bluray burner drive - but I got no further.
Any advice or tops welcomed as I am really lost here.

I am just trying to create a file in the highest possible quality. Or a Blu ray in the highest quality.
Any links to tutorials etc. welcomed - I need to get an understanding of this black art lol.

I'm mostly just prepping my short DSLR videos for Youtube, so I export in 1080p MP4 format. I do tweak the presets though to render maximum bit depth and I also set the audio to 224kps.

I never worked with PE12, since I use Final Cut Pro X, and FCPX only let's me export to .mov, Apple's default format. But then I usually use a conversion app to convert it to some kind of .mp4, so iPhone/iPad can read it. I think as long as your resolution is 1080p, you are good. You can play with bit rate if you are more advanced.

As for burning to Bluray, you are gonna have to convert your finished video into other format so you can burn it as a Bluray disk. Burning DVD/Bluray is a pain in the butt~ :)
