So I have a sandisk extreme compactflash 8gb UDMA memory card and 2 Lexar professional 800x 16gb UDMA 7 cards that I am unable to format. not really sure why. I have other cards that formatted fine with no promlems but these 3 are giving me fits.. anyone else having these issues.

Are they cards you've been able to format before? New purchase? From where?

In what camera? - I see you have a 1D Mk III and a 30D, not sure if the 30D will accept an 8 or 16Gb card (I assume the 1D MkIII will?)
