I was thinking this was a Harris's Sparrow but the beak is the wrong color I think. Most sparrows have a yellow-ish beak and this one is dark or black. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

wow, you can tell I'm a novice at bird id. That would explain why the male was hanging around. I didn't know the female wasn't black! Dave
