A Wasp’s nest that has slowly been increasing in size and occupancy, built on a fence post near our garbage bins. The wasps are quite used to our movements so don’t mind a close approach.

Cheers

Dennis

Just an FYI for my fellow M3 owners - I found a place selling it here in the USA (at least I think it's US based).

http://www.focuscamera.com …7321941&utm_term=11555884 (external link)

They are charging $599 for the body + 18-55 kit lens. No viewfinder though. Much cheaper than what I paid for my japan import body only (though I did get the view finder).

Just thought someone here might be interested (also no affiliation, just an M3 fan) :-)

B+H has the same price. Did they discontinue the 22mm? I have the m, and they used to sell the 22mm as a kit. No longer. Wonder why. It seems there are only some leftover silver colored 22mm and they seem to never be included in the kit...

Amazon has had both the USA and international versions available since I ordered mine back in Oct. Some Amazon sellers offer kits with the 22mm. I went with the 18-55mm kit international model for $505 (picked up a 22mm as well). If you're brave enough to go without a USA warranty it's a great deal!

Sharrowm, if you don't mind my asking, how much was Amazon selling them for (you're talking about US Amazon right?)? I used a freight forwarder and bought it from Amazon Japan (Amazon.co.jp - which doesn't ship to the USA normally). I think it ended up costing me US$620ish or so body+ viewfinder (in white)+shipping.

I already had the EF adaptor and lenses from my EOS M1 (22, 11-22, 18-55, 55-200 - in black; and my walk around Tamron 18-200, which is in silver) so I was good to go in the lens department.

Heya,

Current EOS-M for USA buyers:

B&H: $479 shipped (body only)
Adorama: $479 shipped (body only)
Amazon: $401 shipped (body only; international no warranty)
Ebay: $387+$25 shipping $412 (body only); $375+$21 shipping $396 (body only)

$80 for a warranty basically.

If I were buying today, I'd probably just get the no warranty one from Amazon for $400. I'd torture it for 30 days. Return it if it fails or has issues. No warranty problems to use, as just returning it at that point (love Amazon's policy). Or, if I was going to use it as a primary system, I'd pay the extra $80 for the warranty and live with it.

Still waiting here. My EOS-M1 is still doing the job as a sidekick and travel cam.

I'm really just waiting for a mirrorless the size of the M1, with a great fast prime lens, big APS-C sensor (relative to camera size), and an EVF. My next camera will either be a Fuji/Sony that does this, if Canon cannot do something. I'm not doing the off-body weird EVF that they did on the M3. That's just begging to be broken or be a point of breaking where it will torque when dropped, etc. And it looks stupid to me. I've dropped my M1 several times on concrete, out of my truck, etc. That thing is like a tank. So I can't imagine having external stuff that is just there to bust.

Very best,

Sorry for going off track again (not a picture post) but I heard that Canon will be making new for 2016 gear announcements in February which will include a new addition to the EOS M line. Waiting to see what it will turn out to be given the leaps & bounds advancements other manufacturers have made.

Are you asking me the price back in Oct? I paid $530 (free shipping) for the kit, which included the 18-55, no-name 16gb sd card, cheapo camera bag and some other junk I didn't need that they through in (though I do use the card, bag and the tiny bendable tripod). If I remember correctly it was about $150 more for the US version of the kit without all the junk. I don't recall the body-only prices.

I thought I would bump the activity up for this nice camera. It's from a walk on the beach boardwalk yesterday. A really nice day there, temperature was up in the 50s (fahr). Shots were done in raw, no processing done when converting to jpeg.
