Was just culling some shots from this last relay meet. By no means the best of the bunch but thought the timing was....interesting

Oh, and she is not actually going the wrong way. It is just a relay where 4 team mates line up 2 on each end and run back and forth. This girl was just ahead of the other.

I'm glad you gave some background to this image. I would have been busting my brains trying to figure out how you Photoshopped it!
Never heard of a hurdles relay.
I'm assuming each team has two lanes so that the hurdles can be be oriented the correct way?

lol. My friend was extremely confused when I showed him so I figured I should probably give an explanation.
Yes, that is how they do it. 2 lanes per team with 2 team mates at each end and they used all 8 lanes. So 4 teams at once. It's probably one of the more exciting events to watch.

It was also very difficult to shoot. I stood at the half way point and had to keep turning so I could get everyone coming at me. PLUS I was trying to make sure I got photos of EACH athlete!

I know! I didn't realize how close they actually are to each other until I saw this! I guess it's no different than running it side by side? Seems like it would be a little unsettling seeing someone in the next lane coming straight at you though.
