Last week at Prime Hook NWR

Lots of birds moving through coastal Delaware on a short visit last week. Great birding at Bombay Hook NWR and Prime Hook NWR. Was surprised to count over 200 avocets in a small area; who knows how many more were out of my view.

Ospreys seemed to be everywhere too

Dunlin were common, these two had more color than most

Not a great shot (and heavily cropped also) of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet I found at Sandy Point State Park in Maryland, but what surprised me was how long it perched in one spot as I took pictures. I thought it only had one mode - extra hyper...

Thanks! As for the reflections in a couple of the posted pics, it was surprising to have such relatively calm conditions in spring, along the coast, and in the middle of the afternoon.
