Might be an odd choice, but if I would switch to Nikon (I have no glass left, so free choise), I would only go for the D750 FF. If staying with Canon, I'll go for a APSC and maybe later on switch to the 5D4 when released. I have the small/light stuff covered with my sony a6000/rx100 but I need a camera that's faster in focussing, especially in low(er) light, mainly for the kids and indoor stuff. Occasional church photography and (non-pro) weddings. I take a LOT of pictures in dim situations! And I love taking portraits of my kids. Mirrorless is nice but it's not there yet for me in lens selection and quality.
So the choice is now kinda narrowed down to this :
* 70D + 18-135 STM (for video/casual, I don't do video often) + 85mm/1.8 + 70-200/F4 IS for reach. Price will be around € 2.577
or
* Nikon D750 + 24-120/F4 to start with, and add the 85/1.8 later on for portraits. Price for this setup is about € 2.700 for the D750 kit and € 450 for the prime.
I know I'd lose reach not having the 70-200 but I'm not that often shooting my kids or family at 200mm. And the D750 is supposed to be a lot better for noise and dof (of course, being FF). And the F4 kitlens gives about the same DOF as a f2.8 on crop. Too bad the Canon 5D3 is still quite a bit more expensive than the D750 here in Belgium, or I would definitely stay with Canon/FF but the Nikon is cheaper AND has some very nice specs to go with it. Reviews are very positive too. Still not sure I'll love Nikon as much as Canon, especially for the glass. Hard choice...
Keep in mind that I tend to take a LOT of shots indoors or in dimly lit situations, almost 50% of my shots in my LR library are at ISO1600 or higher, even with fast lenses.
What do you guys think?
