Image taken in the Sabi Sands south Africa in September 2014.
The male leopard in known as PAP for short or as Princess Alice Pans. He gets his name from the pan where Princess Alice used to hunt on what is know known as Mala Mala.

I was not able to establish if PAP is related to Tjololo, who was one of the most famous leopards of the Mala Mala region and as I understand it, the first leopard to appear on the cover of National Geographic.

Notice the 2 flies on the tip of the Right ear.  :p

Great photo, the light is just right to give it "the look".

Leopards are my sort of cat, there is just something about them that makes them special (for me)

That is one clever cat though, you see the dung in front of him just about between his paws, it is fresh buffalo dung and he put upwind of some Impala so it really looked like he lay down behind the dung to mask his scent, which seemed to have worked, The Impala relaxed after awhile, though in the end he was not successful in his hunt.
