Thank you! My stepson planned this trip for us. He's going to do all the driving and give us the grand tour. Hope you get to go soon yourself.

Pondered mainly, then decided I'm going to sell my 50L and buy a 24-70ii. Beyond that I was at work (non photography)

Read a little of my 7DII manual. Viewed some photos on flickr.

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

Bought a new bag (Domke F-3X). I just gave one bag away, so I figured I needed a new bag to replace it in the collection. This will be the one bag to replace them all . . . ;-)a

Cheers, Damien

Selected a sheet of black poster board from my collection of papers to use as a background for some small objects. Noticed numerous tiny white spots where the coating was damaged. Filled in the white spots with black ink. Then decided to use the other side of the sheet (white) instead.

Continued planning for weekend trip to NYC. What to shoot and from where? Worked out public transportation between hotel in Manhattan and Hamilton Park in Weehawken, NJ. Great view of Manhattan from there!

Updated planning for girls varsity soccer game Thursday night, weather permitting (and right now it looks bad). Planning included equipment list, as well as noting activities for tomorrow, such as "charge batteries".

Playing with new (used) Canon EF 100-400 Mk I that arrived yesterday.

Updated all appropriate mind maps for photography, for planning and for equipment management. Mind map tool of choice is Freemind as it works on OS X, Linux, and Windows 7.

Worked regular job today so I can afford to actively enjoy photography.

Checked my Canon repair order status and my gear is (finally) ready to ship. With luck it will be back on Friday.

It looks like that was a great decision! Nice croissant.

Thank you, Tom. As a matter of fact, it was a nice croissant.

Messed with the new flash system, did some processing and looked into renting a lens for vacation. Hmmm lots of interesting choices out there!

I have my photography gear by the door and ready to go out shooting :D Problem is, my other hobby is interfering w/ this venture out into the nice weather, so I'm contemplating delaying that so that I can go shoot for the first time in a while!

Other hobby = tuning my Subaru STi :D
