Wow! It looks like you have some really nice local opportunities! Is that a female Red-winged Blackbird in image #1?

Yes sir, several of them were on the trail today and would let me get close (I'm apparently less noisy than the gators who were crashing on frogs and coots!).

That one was cleaning up.

Here's another female from the same outing giving me a moment of her time:

Sold my 24Lii and bought a 24-70ii

Whoa, that's a big deal! What convinced you to make the switch? I have the 24Lii as well, and for the past few months have considered switching... That or trading the 16-35 f/4. I don't use wide angle all that much (these are my least used lenses, by far) but at the same time they come in handy when the moment arises!

The 24L has some sentimental value attached to it as well (along with my 50L, are the two lenses I've had longest).

Took my 5d3+50L with me on a Golden Hour walk. Nothing good to keep, but felt nice to shoot around.

My 24L purchase was a bit spur of the moment and I didn't seem to click with it. this all happened around the same.time as I got my 50L working and realised its awesome so decided to sell the 24 fir the zoom (was originally going to sell the 50 for the zoom). My 3 lens walkaround kit is now 24-70, 50, 135 or 16-35, 24-70, 50 depending on the situation. Will see how that plays out for a while
