I work in a huge shop with metal halide/mercury vapor lighting. The results I have gotten are quite good.

Yes, the mercury vapor lighting puts out light differently to a fluorescent strip according to our electrician but my friend was referring to fluorescent strips only. I didn't test him on anything else and he has offered me to try this 7D2 sometime and I might take him up on it.

Apparently too, it is possible to install a form of balancer unit on banks of fluorescent strips to reduce the flicker down to virtually nothing. Don't know how it works but I enquired for our local dance studio.
