Mine works well with a 70D and 70-300L, but that isn't quite as big as what you have got going

I wouldn't count on it. Just know that BlackRapid has designed thing strap for the smaller and lighter camera. Be on the safe side and spend twice the money for the strap that was designed for your gear. I adore my BlackRapid, and continue to recommend it for someone looking for something new, you won't be disappointed.

I wouldn't use it for a large lens: it may be sturdy enough, but it doesn't look wide enough to evenly distribute weight on your shoulder.

I have a 5D3 with grip and 70-200 (so maybe even a little bit more weight). I used to use Black Rapid RS-7 (think they now call it the Curve), and that's probably the best one to use with that setup. Now I'm using a strap from a new company: CAMS. I think it's a really good system for DSLRs with vertical grips.

I used a Black Rapid Sport with my 70D, 70-200 2.8 + 430exii. The strap is very high quality and holds the weight quite well. The extra strap helps for not letting the whole thing swing around too much. Had to do some walking between softball parks with this setup. Much better than the OEM neck strap for heavier lenses.
