How easy would it be to edit out the branches on the right from the following photo?

Gorgeous photo. I took the liberty of giving it a try, if you'd like to see it.

Nope. Completely sober. :) A few drinks might have helped that night though.

Yes. I would be interested in seeing what you have done.
How did you do it? Clone and healing?

I just very patiently used content-aware eraser. It took about 20 minutes. Next time carry a machete with you, that ought to get rid of it in 30 seconds. :p:lol:

Nice :). Content aware has an eraser tool? I thought you had to use the selection tool and fill using content aware.

Haha I left the machete at home that day. My Swiss army knife wouldn't have got far. :)

Add fishing line and maybe paracord into your camera kit. "In field edits" don't always have to be destructive, sometimes just being able to pull some branches and stuff around to where you want them is enough.

Which version of Photoshop are you using? One of the fun/annoying parts of that package of tools now is just how many different ways there are to achieve nearly the same thing. And some methods work faster than others in one case, but will flip in others. Experimentation is your friend in that case.

As an alternative, I would crop the photo thus removing the branches. I don't like compositions where the major focus, in this case the stream, wonders out and then back into the image. I think cropping the image would make it stronger. The lower section doesn't add anything to the composition.
