I have a 5D3 and a Sony A7 now and I maybe doing a trade for a 6D and a A7II for my 5D3 and A7. I will lose a little on the 5D3 but will gain a little on the A7II, but I just don't know if it's a best of both worlds compromise. I gain in-body stabilization over the A7 but lose the better focusing on the 5D3. I also like the way the A7II fits in my hand better than the A7.
Any A7II owners out there that could advise?

Heya,

I'm not sure what you're really gaining, the A7II & 6D don't make a lot of sense to me. The A7II and the 5D3 or any other advanced AF system Canon would make sense to me. The A7II and 6D to me are too similar so it just becomes a convenience thing for the mount type dependent on your lenses.

Very best,

I own both a 6D and a 5D3. Fantastic cameras.

I also rented an a7ii recently and I didn't like it at all. If you're cool with the mirrorless world, I think that could be a good upgrade depending on the kind of photography you do.

I have been playing with the A7 and some Nikon manual focus lenses for a couple of days, but I don't think I am getting a good feel for the A7 with these lenses. I think I need a quality autofocus lens for it. I may try the new 28mm f2 when it's available. I like the size and weight and see why people are switching from the dslr's, especially if you don't need the fast action.

Very best,

I really don't need the 5D3 AF and I don't think the A7II and 6D are similar at all. The 6D and 5D3 are almost the same except for AF.
