I'd be inclined to buy one if Lenovo's website actually worked. Tried 3 different browsers and it's broke in all.

Firefox and Chrome dead here also, lots of spinning wheels.

Feedback works so I gave them 0's all the way.

Aren't they the one's putting spyware in all their computers??

Adware, and only on some consumer models. I think the Y50 is a business model. But in any event they've stopped that now. Bit of a black eye for them. They really don't get security as a company.

But that wouldn't bother me as I'd do a fresh OS reinstall as soon as I unboxed it. The only concern would be if there is something funky in the BIOS. Which again, is absolutely possible with products from China (i.e., usb chargers and webcams with malware that installs on your device when connected).

Yeah, I couldn't get through checkout on Firefox, so I switched to Chrome. While I was doing that, I started dealing with Kiran on chat and he took the time to get me qualified for a corporate discount (which was some doing, because I'm retired) that saved me another $100. Probably better to just go to Lenovo.com and click through.

Having second thoughts because of the long delivery time for this great deal - 5 weeks or longer. And, wondering if the 4k 15" screen is going to worth the extra cost (and wait) over the 17" screen.

I'm pretty sure the publicity on their spyware sent them into immediate correction mode and I'd expect that after the fixes, they'll probably be better than anyone else.

According to many reviews, the 15" 4K UHD screen ,15"multi-touch and 17" multi-touch screens are not the IPS screen and the color accuracy is terrible. Only the newer regular Y50 (with a newer 4720 i7 CPU) comes with a better LG IPS screen.

Canon EOS 5DIII, EOS 6D, Canon 24-70 F2.8 II, Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS II, Canon 85mm F1.2 II, Canon 24-105mm IS, Canon 100mm F2.8 IS macro, Speedlite 600 EX-RT, Canon 1.4X III

When I was at Fry's last night, they had two Y50's on display. It never occurred to me to check the exact model numbers but the one with the 4k non-multi-touch display looked incredible and the other, with a standard non-multi-touch display, looked sub-par. From 20 feet away, and at a sharp viewing angle the 4k display looked crisp and vibrant. In comparison, the standard screen looked very washed out.

Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it.

Edit: I've checked out a bunch of threads and reviews and haven't found a definitive answer regarding which screen would come with this laptop. Several reviews for this exact model number say that it is an IPS display. The bad news is that my order confirmation said that it wouldn't be shipping in five weeks - it won't ship until September. So, maybe I'll just leave the order open and see what happens. In the meantime, I'll play around with the Surface Pro 3 and see how that does.
