Very nice - grainy but not ugly, to my eyes.

I love a like, but feedback (including CC) is even better!

Still don't get why someone wouldn't pay $100 more and get a 70D instead and get

*Weather sealed
*Bigger viewfinder
*7 fps instead of 5fps
*Twice as long batterylife

Only reason is that some values the lower weight a lot! 565g vs 755g

Sensor on 70D is also slight better at high iso according to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MQpaFLuAkU (external link)

Some of us are jumpy about the reported AF issues on the 70D. I'm even waiting until the T6s is more widely-owned to see if any such issues are reported.

Some of us want a high quality camera that has a nice "Rebel" logo emblazoned in red on the body- people do not pay as much attention to you in a group event setting-they figure you are some Best Buy snap-shooting hack. I don't care about any of the things you listed-and I have a 5DII when I need a bigger viewfinder.

I prefer the additional Drive modes on the 70D. I also love the AF modes and viewfinder display of the 70D (would have to handle a T6s to compare that). Having RAW, mRAW, sRAW can be nice sometimes. The extra fps on the 70D is nice for BIF and Sports shooters.

If I am upgrading or even getting my first DSLR and I am looking at the T6s and 70D, I don't see why I would choose the T6s over the 70D. Rebels are meant to be more user friendly but the 70D can be just as easy to use.

It's only $100 difference. I would still choose the 70D. You would be just as noticeable with a rebel as a 70D anyway. People seem to judge more by the lens anyway. Also, who cares about who notices you unless your are trying to be sneaky for some reason.

On the other hand, if I had the T6s instead of the 70D, I'm sure I would be happy with it. ;)

The only people that care about gear are the gearheads in this forum. From 10-15 ft away, you can't tell whether it's a Rebel, an xxD, a 5Dx, or a 6D. If the camera is gripped, most people would throw the 1D models in the guess mix.

I've been shooting with the EF 70-200 f2.8 II with the hood on quite a bit in public places. It looks like a pretty impressive white mother. I've been approached only once by a guy with a 1D around his neck. He asked a few polite questions, as the lens was relatively new in the market at the time. I asked about his 1D and he pointed out that it was a gripped 60D :-P

In a general audience (I shoot choir performances), everyone understands that hauling this monster you are probably a serious amateur, but they wouldn't know the difference between the 70-200 and the 150-600. Wouldn't care either...

I am super enjoying my T6s, feature lacking or not. Sure, I could have bought a 70D, but I wanted to get the new 24 mpx sensor on the T6s. And, why buy a 70D when for only 400 dollars more I could have a 7DII? :) That game could become endless after awhile. And, I don't need what the 7DII has to offer either. I don't shoot sports, I don't shoot birds in flight, I don't shoot long lenses cranked wide open all the time (therefore I don't need MFA).

My old Rebel XSI was a nice party/event camera, and the T6s fills that role and then some. I finally have a swivel screen, which I have been wanting for awhile for low angle and tripod based photography. The extra features are a nice bonus (like the touch screen). I have been doing photography since 1968-when the time comes I feel I need a feature rich camera, I will get one. For now, this is a great, secondary, more casual body. My 5DII is already feeling a bit lonely:) I will probably keep using the 5DII for "serious" landscape and architectural use, and when I want to use specialized lenses. I completed an STM lens collection for the T6s (10-18, 18-55, 55-250 plus a Samyang 8mm fisheye that I had for the XSI) to go along with the new body, and I am thrilled:)

Here are a couple of more shots from the T6s where I just let auto ISO pick what it wanted, AV shooting @F5.6 with the 10-18mm STM lens:

The T6s has NFC and a more advanced metering sensor with RGB+IR. As far as AF goes...it likely is using the exact same AF module as a 70D, so trying to avoid AF issues if you think it's a technology issue probably won't gain you anything.

Nice shots. If terribly depressing.
