I see several services running when I first start my computer that I haven't noticed before.....

Adobe Desktop Services
Adobe IPC Broker

Are they necessary, and if not how do I get rid of them?

Windows, right?

Find the services manager, set them never to start. Reboot, see if making them go away blows up something else, which can happen... if it does, go back, let them start automatically...

Or, if that's not comfortable for you, go to add/remove software, see if you can customize the install.

If you have no idea at all what I just said, then you can't do it without help.
