From everyone that knows me here knows that I am a shallow DOF portrait junkie! I have an addiction to shallow DOF portraiture I know its a problem but I can't quit it! I never will its just too awesome! lol I am always looking to try new things and do things that many people shy away from. I first was bit by the HSS bug over 2yrs ago when I picked up a set of yn-622c's and was ganging up 3 speedlites to get my WS up. It was awesome but more power was too expensive.

So now that the market having more affordable HSS enabled monolights I went and picked up a Rovelight 600B 2 weeks ago. I am so far very impressed with this $500 HSS enabled 600WS built in battery beast of a mono. I def for the money recommend it anyone that doesn't have a large budget and wants similar power and capability to the Profoto B1's.

Thread info requirements:

Camera Body
Lens
f stop
shutter speed
ISO
light source/modifier/light source location

BTS images are encouraged but not mandatory;)

Lets share some HSS everyone! Happy shooting everyone!!

I have only have a few tests to share as of now but I let me start this awesome thread off;)

Had a shoot scheduled at the South Street Seaport yesterday morning and brought two of my boys to assist but unfortunately the talent flaked on me. So with it being early in the day and it being a gorgeous day out I had to shoot! So heres a shot of Gary who is a fellow POTN member, great photog and good friend of mine;)

I literally just got my Flashpoint 360 light a week ago and sunday I got my Cells II trigger....

...so let me get to this weekend and I'll post some up :)

First time ever with strobes outdoor and HSS all within a week. I'm giddy to say the least.

I will be following this thread. I prefer this look over the filter approach.

Same here.

I have alot to learn but I think I'm moving in the right direction. Outdoor strobing = win.

Nobody around here does it and this sill start to pull me apart from the rest. So far for what I've seen you just cannot compare the two. I much prefer the look of strobing HSS wide open vs. all on location of course :)

Great idea for a thread, Joey! Are you using the 622's to trigger the rovelight?

My name is Jeff, not actually Jose Canseco.
