Jul 29, 2018 12:17 | #963 I just started using HSS. I'm coming from AlienBees/DigiBees world and just got a AD600 Pro. I like the photos below, but the first one especially screams fake background to me. It's not - it's a real sunflower field. It almost looks like it was shot in studio. Any suggestions? Did the flash overpower the sun TOO much making it look like a studio shot? Image hosted by forum (924953) © BeerWolf [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. To answer your question. Your flash exposure on the subject looks to be fine however if your goal was to have the ambient light in balance with the flash you would have to slow the shutter down a touch to let more ambient light in.

Problem is that logic doesn't work if you shooting in HSS mode. Both flash and ambient will increase if you lower your shutter speed. You need to lower your flash power to achieve what you suggesting. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

I'm not sure why the EXIF data didn't carry over, but yes...I was shooting around 1/2500 to 1/6400. Mostly 1/4000. It was 2:30pm and very sunny.
