I have a serious of images that were taken mid day in front of white sheet. They look very white and washed out. Can you give me an advice on how to fix them up a little bit. I am new to PSE. I have version 10.
I'm attaching a sample. What would be your general fixes?

I would adjust white balance, bump up your contrast, see where you're at and bring down exposure a little. Maybe bump up the saturation a touch. Nothing is blown out so shouldn't be too hard to dial it down a little. Good luck!

Tatiana, for what it's worth, that image looks fine. It's not washed out nor is it too white. I'd say the exposure is right on. If anything, I'd bump the contrast a bit (just a bit) and that'll be it.

Ok, Thanks! I think it's the white sheet that messes it up for me. Too much white for me. But that was the set up and time..

Make sure to lighten the eyes a bit too so you can better see the whites.

White is white: that sheet was for me the tell tale sign** that the photo was properly exposed. Were it darker (i.e. grey, as cameras stubbornly render white when using the auto exposure/metering) I'd have suggested lightening the image.

White being white, it does advance and catches the eye. You could try adding a vignette in PSE, and see if it helps a bit.

**Another sign of good exposure are the flowers on the sheet: one is brilliant red (that's your mid-tone, BTW) and the other bright yellow. Yellow is never s'posed to be dark. Were you to darken the photo the yellow would become ochre.

Perhaps a crop and keeping the same aspect ration would help. You can try that and accept if you like what you see. I'm with the others. I do not believe the exposure is off. Fine tuning may help but other than that a very nice photo.

In general I'll go along with the other comments, basically leave it alone, the exposure is spot-on IMO and it's a lovely shot.
What does bug me though is the yellow stain on the sheet (to the right of her knee area) and I'd also try to 'erase' that weed on the grass if possible. :-)
