Hi guys,
somedoby have experience with 7D and MotoGP?
I just purchased a 7D as second body, in order to have a crop sensor which is useful in sport photography.
Now I'm using my 5D3 + Sigma 120-400 with very good results.

Can you suggest me the best jpeg and AF settings in AI-Servo mode and for my 7D?

Thanks,
Felice :-)

Why not start with something similar to what you use with the 5D Mark III?

Yes, this is correct.
With the 5D3 I'm using the single point AF with the surrounding points, but on the paper the 5D's AF should be better than the 7D's one.
Regarding the jpeg setting, i know that the 7D produces soft images, this is the reason of the question.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!!!

Thanks,
Felice

The 7D also supports a single point with four surrounding assist points.
If you think the jpegs from the 7D are too soft, then increase sharpening and maybe saturation in the picture style you use.

I have tested my 7D with my lenses (EF24-70 F4L, EF24-105L, EF70-200 F2.8IIL), and the jpeg files out of camera seems good.
My question is...what could happen with my Sigma 120-400 which is not sharp as my L lenses ?
Are there any jpeg settings that can help me to obtain good result (more sharpness/contrast/saturation) mininazing the classic jpeg artifacts ?

Many thanks,
Felice

The Canon EF 24-70 mm f/4L IS USM and EF 70-200 mm f/2.8L IS II USM are considered very good for being zoom lenses. The EF 24-105 mm f/4L IS USM is also a good lens. It has more distortion, but that doesn't affect sharpness much.

I've no experience from the Sigma lens you have, but I considering the reputation of the other L-lenses, I'm not surprised if it turns out it's unrealistic to expect the same from the Sigma.
