Just bought a Canon 6D. I tried to set HDR mode but the "HDR MODE" is not highlighted. What is the problem?

Might be one of those features that's JPG only. Like Multi-Shot Noise Reduction (MSNR).

Turn off RAW. Select any JPG image size/resolution. HDR will be available. I don't find this feature particularly useful. Bracket 5 exposures, raw, and do the HDR manually in other software. PSE does it, and I think one of the versions of DPP, too.

Version 3.x does HDR processing too IIRC it can use up to 3 images.

Can't you do it just like the old version such as in 40D, 5D MK1?

Not sure if there is some confusion here.
The 6D has the HDR mode but as stated this a a fully internal, JPEG only thing in the camera that will spit out a HDR image so you don't need to do the merge and processing yourself. I've not bothered playing with the HDR mode as I'd rather shoot in RAW and do my own thing on the PC afterwards

If you want to do HDR's like you did on your 40D, you can still do that with the AEB function. But you now get the option of 3, 5 or 7 shots (in the custom menu I think) and how much +- you want (as before). This will still require manual merging and processing once out of the camera.

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs here - I'm still learning the 6D myself.

Hi, Got to say agree with above, if you want good HDR images then forget about the in the camera Jpeg HDR option, however if you want just to try it out then
