This poor man managed to get himself in a bit of a pickle. He didn't seem to be too bothered about the situation, even though he was unable to shut his beak fully as the rope was also running across his mouth. I didn't see him trying to feed but I really can't see how that's gonna be done :-(

That's really sad. Your pictures definitely capture that emotion.

Aspiring young amateur hobbyist photographer. Wow, that's a lot of descriptors!

Gosh, I would hope there is someone or company to help removing that, a dog damn sight to see really. I would think that one could not make it much longer without a bit of help, there has got to be a good ending to this story.

Glad you posted this. This is the reason I get aggravated when I see twine or line left laying around. It gets wrapped around birds feet and beaks and can kill or maim them.

So sad to see. Call your local wildlife department or wildlife rehabilitator so they can hopefully catch the Heron and remove the line.

I contacted the wildlife rescue last night and they were to send the officers down the area. Hopefully they will be able to help him.

Great quality captures but sad to see.

Does they area not have any rangers that might help?

There are a number of charity organisations that rescue wildlife in this sort of situation and re-wild them after recovery. RSPCA might be a good start and point you to one.

It's RSPCA I contacted. I also asked them if I should rather contact somebody else but they said no, they will try to get him sorted.
