.... Of course, my S5's now downloading a software update, so they probably read my post and are about to disable the MicroSD card in my phone completely.

lol Yes, that's the truth for sure!

Ohh I was only asking because I wanted to gain insight myself! :)

Chances are DARN GOOD that if someone else is asking a question about something hard to do, they have a REALLY good reason to do it.

How about buying one of those adapters that can plug in to your phone and had an SD card reader.

Well, so far they've downloaded two updates but haven't managed to break the MicroSD card. :{)#

So I was very curious and how dumb how it seems I've been able to transfer my photos that were sent by the eye fi mobi on my galaxy tab 7" to the SD card slot

Basically, I went to my files and selected all, transferred into a new files under eye fi and boom it was done. Hopefully this helps

fyi. I have the new eye fi mobi

Thanks for your reply, could you clarify? Are the files being written now to the SD card on their own from the eyefi card? Or do you have to manually transfer them?

also i am not sure we are running the same version of Android. I understand that IF I was able to upgrade to the latest version ( Can't without root, which I can not get) that i would be able to do this again.

Yes, i had to manually transfer the photos after they have been downloaded to the tablet. My tablet isn't rooted or anything and is still running on KitKat 4.4.2.

One thing i was wondering since i reread your first post was that you were running the Eye Fi pro instead of the mobi. could that be the culprit?

What I am trying to do is to get the eyefi to write directly to the SD card. I can do the transfer manually as well.

I love my WIFI on my 70D! ;) Sorry, I had to! lol

I second the social media connection though! It's especially handy when traveling and you don't want to be hauling another device around for editing/posting! We are going to Colorado next week. I will be taking a ton of photos and just uploading them from the trail, the bus, the bar, etc!

Not sure how the EYEfi card/app works, but I shoot raw on my 70D then use EOS Remote on my phone and it pulls the images over. Must just save them to JPeg automatically when I download them through the app.
