Great shot showing the colors.
In my neck of the woods they are often more slate blue,. regardless the name is wrong, they clearly should be called "RedNeck" herons

nice! haven't seen one myself in several years... there was one season when they were all over, and i got tons of photos, but the last 3-4 years, i haven't seen a one...
