I've been wanting to try this for some time - and now I have.

Quite pleased at the results for my first attempt, although I have some thoughs on how to improve - so as to get an image worthy of hanging on the wall.

Pekka - I am humbled by your comment and curiosity :-)

The three glasses are glued to a board. The board is fitted with Lego wheels (they were to hand).

The now trolly, is allowed to roll down another board acting as a slope, with a hard stop at the one end. Here, the camera is at angle to match the slope.

High Speed, off camera flash illumitates the background.

This (external link) was my inspiration, although I used trial and error rather than a sound trigger.

Nice! I guessed it was something like that, the odd thing was how to get the camera frame the action point.

That setup could be used for anything, like a bowl full of M&M's, or mice :)

PS. Either #1 or #3 could be a "Best of", but they have to be in your gallery to be eglible <-- (hint)

I took the rig to Photo Club night last week - the activity was very well received and have been asked to do another session.

Here's a very short video of the rig in action, and the fun we are all having: External Link (external link)

On this occasion we have a couple of bare studio lights aimed at a white shower curtain hanging off the wall and another shower curtain on the floor (it is a bit messy)

I understand the video will be appearing on the Club's new website - when I find it, I'll post up the link.
