I have thousands of RAF photos from my Fuji x100 that I want to easily turn to JPGs. I do not need any editing just simply want to convert them all. What is the quickest way to do this?

I want to be able to select a folder and hit convert. Is this possible? I have an old version of Lightroom and I use a Macbook.

Thanks all!

You could select all the pictures in a folder and use the export feature to export them as Jpeg using whatever quality settings you like. From there you can just re-import them into LR.

You could make an Automator workflow and drop folders on it, using Preview to generate the JPEGs.

GIVE IJFR A TRY (external link).

Please note that the JPEG files are small. Fairly high JPEG compression, but they look great and the program is easy to use and really is "instant".

You could also try to extract the JPEG thumbnail in the RAF raw file (I cannot recall offhand if the RAF has an embedded thumbnail or not, and if so, what size it is). EDIT: My old X100 yields JPEGs that appear to be half of full res. The process to extract a JPEG is pretty much instantaneous.

dcraw -e <rawfile.RAF>

Irfanview batch mode may do it, and is free.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I decide to try IJFR and it worked perfectly!

Never used IJFR...

I was just gonna say that you say you have and "old" version of Lightroom...

If your Lightroom can Import and view/work with the photos, then with Lightroom you can easily Export jpegs at a variety of settings, and Lightroom will keep the originals in a catalog for nice storage and organizational tools.

That being said I know nothing about Fuji cameras of "RAF" photos!
