I always enjoy having Catbirds and their songs join the backyard/backwoods menagerie each Spring. Their arrival, however, typically signals the end of Spring migration in my area.

4. This bird sat on the same log/stump and serenaded me very softly for about 5 minutes.

Great set Steve, detail, poses, it's all good. You're sure right about their singing, I don't think there are many that have such beautiful songs and a lot of them too. They showed up here a week or so ago.
Grand set!

Superb shots, my friend. Love the composition, too. Remember these growing up in N. Illinois but have yet to see any in Peoria area.

Very envious Steve, as these guys always elude me. Nice and sharp with excellent detail! What camera/lens combo did you use here?

Those are terrific, well done, and I'm jealous. "My" catbirds aren't too shy, but always seem to perch behind leaves/branches, or in half bright sun-half deep shade and I can't get decent pictures. Obviously the bird's fault, not the photographer's...

OK, the title should have been "A lesson in clarity and crispness". Wow, these are beautiful Steve. They haven't showed up here yet, but our snow is almost all gone so likely soon.

Fantastic set and definitely a favorite of mine. I have not seen any yet but it should not be too much longer. This is a gorgeous series you did a beautiful job of capturing this bird.

Interesting how they're sometimes hit or miss in certain areas isn't it Rog. As always my friend, your generous comments are warmly received.

Always happy to hear from you Brad and always with such nice comments.
Funny how we all have our nemesis birds don't we....luckily for me these are not on my list :-)
All of these were captured with the Nikon D800 and 600/f4.

LOL coopert, I'm glad someone else knows that all failures are due to the bird :-)
Thanks so much for your generous and kind comments.

Wow Ian, such glowing compliments I think I'm going to blush.....OK, I'm over it :-)
All the thanks I can muster for your continuing support and comments my friend. Here's hoping you're swamped with Catbirds soon.
