Processing Photos taken with Lumix FZ1000

OK, so I hardly ever use the artistic dial settings until now. I just got my FZ1000 and was playing around with the Art setting yesterday. I got some really cool shots. Problem is, when I bring the photos into Photoshop I see my settings have not been applied to the photo. They just look like regular photos. But I used the SILKYPIX Developer Studio 4.1 SE that came with the camera and saw a preview of the photo I took with the camera settings but again, it just looks like a regular photo in the actual editor. Do I need to apply the settings manually in my photo editor to get these to come up the way they looked in the camera?

I am wondering if the Lumix bakes it into the RAW file. Photoshop would not know where to find the Lumix setting.. Just guessing.

I believe the camera only applies the effects when you shoot jpegs.

True. This is one of the drawbacks with the camera. Certain settings/styles/filter​s ONLY work with JPEG and Panasonic's JPEG algorithm sucks big time. I would never use a jpeg from this camera for printing. Not bad for on-screen viewing though.

[EDIT] Actually, what I should say is that Panasonic noise filter sucks which makes their JPEGs splotchy looking. I've tried to figure a way to turn off all filtering in-camera but haven't as of yet. So, having said that, if you shoot in great light where you can use a very short shutter speed and bottom ISO, you can get good jpegs from this camera. I shot an image of a couple on top of a waterfall at 400mm and the resulting jpeg was great considering the settings. You can see the images in this discussion thread on flickr. The top image shows the distance to the couple and then the bottom image shows the 400mm shot.
