I have been using my Epson R1900 for a number of years, with no problems. Now, it will not print the entire image. Approximately 50% of the image area is printed. The printed portion of the image nearly fills the media. This happens when printing from both Lightroom 6 and from Photoshop CS6. While both programs print the same percentage of the image, the specific section of the image is different in LR than in PS. In both programs the preview on the screen shows the full image.

This was my first attempt to print from LR 6, but I have been printing from PS CS6 for years. The only new variables in the equation in the case of PS are updated ACR versions. LR 6 is, of course, new, but I have had no problems with printing from LR in any previous version.

I have the current Windows 7 64-bit drivers for the R1900, which are from 2009.

I am puzzled, and would appreciate any suggestions regarding what is going on, or what to try to remedy the problem. If there are other R1900 users out there with LR 6 or the latest ACR installed, does printing work for you?

Many thanks.

More information:

All of my earlier attempts were using 5x7 paper. When I insert a 5x7 JPEG image into an 8.5x11 page in Word, it will print correctly. When I set up a 5x7 page in Word and fill the page with the image, the printed image is again cropped to about 50% (but not the same area of the image as with either LR or PS). Since there is no ACR in this setup, it does not seem to be an Adobe problem.

I also realized that this was the first time I had printed an image from the 7DII. I would suspect that there was a problem with Adobe's support for the 7DII, except that this happens when trying to print a 5x7 from a JPEG in Word.

When I get time later today I will try some other paper sizes in LR and PS, and see what happens. I hope I can figure this out, since while I don't mind replacing a printer every now and then, I have a fair amount of ink for the R1900 on hand. :-)

You are in luck. I was just printing some documents on my R1900 when I saw your post. Among them was a tif of a map, so I imported it into LR6. The media was A4 paper (around 8x12 inches). I set the driver (through LR's Page Setup) to borderless, set the right side panel to 'zoom to fill', zero margins and cell size to the same as the paper dimensions. Printed perfectly.

I also realized that this was the first time I had printed an image from the 7DII. I would suspect that there was a problem with Adobe's support for the 7DII, except that this happens when trying to print a 5x7 from a JPEG in Word.

As Gertrude Stein said, "a jpg is a jpg is a jpg." All jpgs are the same, JPEG is a controlled international standard and Adobe treats every one the same way. Where it came from is irrelevant.

Yeah. Once I had the same problem with the JPEG file in Word, I realized that it was not an issue with with the Adobe software. I am going to reinstall the drivers and give it another shot this evening. I have printed hundreds of images with this printer in the past few months with no problems. Since I have eliminated the factors that have changed since it last worked (new software, new camera), it comes down to the printer. The only silver lining right now is the $250 rebate on the R2000 until the end of the month. ;-)a

Well, my r1900 prints US letter sized prints just fine. 5x7 it just will not do correctly. I have it set up for borderless prints, exactly as Elie describes. There is no border on the left side of the print, and in LR it prints about 80% of they way to the right and toward the top from the lower left corner. This image fills the sheet, except for small margins on the top, bottom, and right edges.

I have also noticed that the color balance is off as well. I calibrated my monitors yesterday (Spyder Pro 4), but things are not right in that department either. Reinstalling the drivers is next.

Here are examples of what is happening. The first pic is a screen shot of the LR print module, showing the preview and the layout panel. The second pic is what gets printed. I have reinstalled the drivers for the printer, and it makes no difference.

After talking to Epson support, and trying several things (including using a different computer), it has been determined that the printer is broken.
