I'm looking for some good software for my MacBook that will find and delete duplicate photos & videos. I have no clue how these duplicate finder programs work but my files are pretty messed up so it will need to be smart.
I have 10,000 or so JPGs and some files are labeled IMG_1.jpg then I have IMG_1_Copy.jpg but they are completely different images. Probably because I've restored camera software and it starts counting at 1 again. So whenever I save I say to save both instead of overriding. Then there are others where IMG_1.jpg and IMG_2353.jpg are duplicates but are different sized. One is 4.4mb for example and the other is 770kb. How I got these, I do not know. I'm guessing I compressed them at some point or edited them.
What I want the software to do is show me a list of files and their potential duplicates and hopefully show me thumbnails of each so I can see if they truly are duplicates easily. Then I want to be able to check off some and delete.
Does such a software exist that can look at the actual picture/video rather than just the name and/or file size?
