Yesterday I was at Lower Klamath NWR, using my Outback with a beanbag supporting my 600mm II to photograph birds from the car window.....I came upon another photographer using his Outback to do the same thing but he had the heavier version 1 600mm.

He had some kind of setup that he said was from RRS...I cannot find such a rig on the RRS website....I did notice he had a mount that used a car window support bracket.....

Anyone have an idea which RRS product he was using?

I've never seen an RRS version, but Kirk makes one:

And so does Giottos, albeit much smaller/lighter duty

I have the Kirk window mount. Its real handy sometimes, but I have a small car and the window opening isn't really tall enough for the mount, the ball head, the camera + vertical grip. I can only use it if I remove the vertical grip, otherwise the viewfinder is way up by the car's roof!

If I had a truck or SUV it would probably fit just fine!

Nikon D80, D7000, D750, N90S, FA, FM2, F, F2, 1J3... and lenses.
Rolleiflex 2.8C, Baby Rolleiflex, Ricoh Ricohmatic 44, etc.
