Bought a small tarp, for laying on the muddy waters edge. The crinkling startled things a couple times, but other then that the shorebirds walked by me pretty close. Not bad for 7 bucks taxes inc.

You did well on the tarp. Beautiful shots, the blues and the back ground really add to the shots. I like number three best, looks so strong and cool checking out the waters. Real nice set Trevor!

Very nice! I've never gotten any where near as close to a Willet as this. Most of my shots are "on the wing" as they get the heck further down the shore.

Well done.

Excellent job Trevor! The tarp idea is great. Nice straight on shots.

Thanks for the comments :)

Yeah the tarp is a good addition to the photo bag. It's a 6'x8' the smallest they had. I just folded it over, folded up it fits in my camera bag. Its a very light and cheap tarp, but it saves me from getting "caked" in mud, as marsh mud is particularly gooey and smelly. (and surprisingly deep)

Excellent series of portraits of this shorebird Trevor.
I think the 1st and 4th images are my favorites, with a strong nod towards the 4th due to the catchlight.
Personally, I'm gonna miss the stories of how muddy you got :-)
