Which Gear to Use?

My daughter's lacrosse team is going to the state finals this weekend. On Friday afternoon they are having a ceremony in the rotunda at their school. It's a big honor and I'm going to take pictures. Trying to decide what to take.

I have the following to pick from:

Bodies: Canon 6D, Canon 7D II
Lenses: Canon 35MM f2.0, 85MM f1.8, 24-105L f4.0, 70-200L f2.8 II, Tamron 28-75 f2.8
Flash: Canon 430 EX

The rotunda is pretty well lit with a skylight above it and light coming in from the front / back doors and windows of the school (see pics below).

I'm definitely going to take the 6D, but wondered which lens and if I need the flash. Thinking either the 24-105L or the 28-75 f2.8. Was thinking the shorter zooms would make sense since I'm not sure where I'll be able to stand and that the 70-200 may be too long even on the short end. Also hoping I don't need the flash as I'm not very good with it yet.

Which lens would you take? Would you plan on needing the flash or not?

I eould take the 24-105 and count on using the flash. The flash means you have the ability to control light direction snd color.

I just sold my 24-105L in favor of a 35/85 pairing, so I wouldn't have that luxury, but yeah the 24-105 + flash sounds like a good idea. You may find that you don't need the flash (that looks like really nice light) and I could see how it would be tricky to utilize in a room of that shape, but that is nice light to blend your flash with.

EDIT: I would want something even wider than 24 too!

Not sure they'll allow a parent up there, but will take the 70-200 just in case...

I was asked to photo a weekend indoor retreat last month and even though I do not do that kind of stuff I agreed with the warning I really didn't have the proper equipment so don't expect perfection. This was mostly classroom (Small - 30 guys) and I shot from the back of the group. Not having zooms with greater than F4 I started with my 24-105 and later found the 70-200 F4 IS actually did better. The room was not dark, but wasn't really bright inside either.

If the room as you say does have decent light the 70-200L f2.8 II would definitely be my choice. If not too cumbersome I would carry a bag with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 and flash - just in case.
