Advice on Baptism Pictures

Hi I would like to know what setting to use for taking pictures of the white gown (baptism dress)?
If anybody have pictures of the Baptism could you share .. need to get some idea. Never been to any baptism
I will be taking some pictures in their home and also in the church.

Each event is different, but just a few thoughts: The white dress will throw the metering off a bit so you'll have to dial in a positive correction, depending on the amount of ambient light. Also you probably won't be allowed to use flash, so you'll have to crank up the ISO.
When allowed to use flash try to bounce where you can to avoid harsh shadows, but watch out for the colour of the surfaces you use for bouncing. When bouncing, use a white card behind the flash surface (as your flash does not have a bounce card as far as I know.

Not sure what baptism means in Texas and why it requires a white gown,but here in Canada it's a church thing where you get baptized and you can wear anything you want.

You are shooting digital so why do you need to know settings? You take a shot and look at the screen and then adjust settings as needed.

While we do not discuss theology on here, I will venture to clarify on this for photography's sake.

Baptism comes in 2 basic flavors in practice. One is Adult Baptism in which people may be in street clothes or swim wear covered in a white or colored robe and fully immersed in an indoor pool or in a river. Others with a different understanding of Baptism will baptise babies, often in first 6 months or so. They are typically dressed in a bright white gown (even males) similar to a wedding dress. Surroundings are typically a bit dim in comparison, thus a high contrast situation.

I typically shoot +1/3 for most subjects, and for this child baptism I would go +1 EV. I might spot meter on the skin as an alternative... The important moments happen very fast, so being prepared is critical. That special moment of the water sprinkling on the babies forehead or the adult rising from the pool and the water running off the face and the smile it elicits, is fleeting. Try to do a pre shoot 1/2 an hour prior to the ceremony. You'll be prepared and more relaxed for the real thing.
