And I'm okay with that!

The worker:

After watching this pair for a long time today, I came to the conclusion, that one of them does all the work, and the other one is the "building inspector!" Each time one Chickadee returned with a beak full of moss, and then flew away, the other one would just look in the hole, then fly to a nearby branch. Rather comical when you think about it!

The inspector:

I am so excited to watch this process take place. I had set up a different birdhouse for the Chickadees that was closer to the woods,.

Thanks Jeff! My hubby picks on me when he goes to work on next years firewood, and no one shows up to help. My response, you have to let me know you are going!

Great shots Sandy, enjoy your new neighbours.

Thanks Lester. I haven't had a birdhouse for years. Our last renters were Tree Swallows, and they were brutal. You couldn't go anywhere near them without getting dive bombed!

I hope so! I shared pictures a couple of years ago of a very tired Chickadee trying to please her youngsters at my feeder!

That's hilarious Sandy...as long as you're not the Bluebirds!
Amazing what a little observation can tell you about bird habits/behaviors. I'd have to say that house must seem like a mansion to the little Chickadees though :-)

Thank you Steve! I was shocked that they chose that house, especially after reading about the preferences of the Chickadees.
