I need some advice :)

If you could choose one, which one would you buy? say you're NOT invested at all in any previous Yongnuos, don't have any receivers or transreceivers and want to buy your very first speedlight. You're thinking, yeah sure I could buy manual speedlights like the YN-560 IV that sounds awesome but I really want to try ETTL.

That's my situation right now, I'm having a hard time deciding which one to buy, the RT system would let me use pretty much anything, if I buy the YNE3-RX E3-RX, so the whole Canon RT system is not a problem anymore.

Which one would you buy today if you were to buy into a brand new system?

I bought the Canon 600RTs and my buddy bought the Yongnuo YN600RTs and there is little difference. The main difference is the canon has weather sealing and better AF assist lamps. He hasn't had any issues and I really love the E3 transmitter
It's what would get my vote. Heck you can buy two YN600 and a YN-e3 for $337 right now on amazon. Thats a steal of a deal IMHO.

I'm thinking of ditching my Canons and get the YN versions and can literally pocket around 400 bucks. For that savings I could have the 4 of the YN flashes and one transmitter and still pocket some money vs. two of the Canon and the canon transmitter.

Thanks! I'm leaning more towards the YN600s now, I wouldn't be any sort of heavy user but being able to play with 3 or 4 flashes and not have to worry about receivers and extra batteries and cables and all of that it's kinda liberating in a way.

I have the YN568EXII and three wireless ETTL triggers (YN622-C and one YN622-TX) That makes for a very versatile combination with my two other speedlights. I don't feel the extra cost of the YN600 is worth it.
Yes... certainly go for ETTL and not for manual. With the ETTL version you can always switch if off but with the manual flashes you cannot switch ETTL on... :)

Thank you! I thought of that too but the YN568EXII right now is $104 compared to $126 for the YN600EX-RT then add the YN622-C at $79 for a pair and for the YN622-TX another $43, sure it can be used on other flashes as well but I'm not really invested in anything right now. I really don't know what to do.

Built in wireless is the way to go. Go 600RT's (Canon or YN) without a doubt.

Did I mention I love the transmitter. So awesome.

Also later on say you wanna add some strobes you can buy the YNE3-RX and that will let you fire the strobes off with the transmitter and also integrate in well with the 600s. Just like my current setup is :)

I'm almost sold, the only thing I'm thinking is that those are fairly new compared to the YN568 EX II, from what I've read the 568s are well loved and well regarded. That's the only thing but if anything Amazon would just send me another one.
Ok, thanks! I think I'll do that and get the YN600RTs :)

I was just thinking about posting a thread like this. Now here is a stupid question. What does the YN-E3-RT actually do? Do I need this for ocf? I have a 6d if that matters.

It basically is a controller that lets you do groups, gives you a focus assistant light. You don't have to buy it since the YN 600 will also work as a controller but if you want to get the flash off your camera then you'll need it to trigger it.

On a different note the YN600 EX RT doesn't have supersync, bummer! I'll have to get YN622-Cs to use supersync.

I would go with the YN600-EX-RT for their integrated receivers. Not only does this save you money up-front vs buying YN568's plus YN622's, but it's less stuff to deal with both when setting-up and packing. Of course I'm assuming you'll buy more than one flash.

The other way to go if you don't need ETTL is with YN560 IV's and a YN560-TX.

Even though I haven't used either flash I'd suggest the YN600 RT. For about 20 bucks more you have a built in radio transceiver. Both support the built in Canon flash control, and both will work with the 622 transceivers. The kicker for me would be the increased compatability when you decide to expand your kit.

Supersync = HSS. I suppose you get some timing adjustments with the 622s but just to give you a heads up the 600rts have HSS and it's all controllable from the trigger you can turn it on/off switch from manual to ETTL and peform power adjustments all from the transmitter.

Supersync makes HSS possible and also longburn flash to be used at shutter speeds 1/8000s.

Thanks guys!
I was under the impression that HSS and Supersync weren't the same... same as HSS and Hypersync are not and that the SS was Yongnuo's version of Hypersync.
