Well, I'm still trying to find the area of photography that I feel happiest in. Don't get me wrong, every time I pick up my camera I get excited about what Ill end up with, but I really want to progress so please give me some constuctive critisism.

Erm, um, er, constructive criticism eh? well if I try really hard I guess the angle/crop of the top of the glass in 1 is a little distracting. Other than that then I'm afraid to say they are STUNNING.

Hope that helps. ;)

The silhouette is reasonably creative. However, I think it has a very limited market due to the rather limited interest.

Compositionally, I would prefer to see more of the glass container - it deserves a bit more space in the image.

The macro doesn't do much for me. I notice that entirely too many macro shots are of such shallow DOF that they end up being rather pointless. You have to wonder whether the shallow DOF serves a purpose, or is it being tolerated just because it's too difficult to get a deeper DOF.

I think I would prefer the silhouette over the macro shot in a contest.

Ok Robert, this weekend I am going to be really hard on myself with regards to DOF. I love a challenge. Hope I can impress you. Yet again, thank you for your CC.

id agree with robert about the shallow depth of field...it has left a large portion of your image with very little detail and very little added interest. the out of focus yellow buds are very distracting but i like the black background for this shot. The first shot is really great. I like it a lot. to be picky though i would have liked to have seen the rest of the top edge of the glass to complete the circle, i think that would have looked nice.

It's an interesting concept for the first shot, however, the weight of the photo shifted towards right and left a rather large empty space in the left half of the frame, overall composition needs improvement.

The focus point in the second shot wasn't exactly the most eye pleasing place you could find in a frame, try different angle, different composition, look for leading lines and distractions. you want viewers to see what you see, and I'm sure you were seeing something when you took the shot and we are yet to see here.
