I've seen these birds many times in and out of the tops of trees knowing full well they were out of reach for me.....until last week! These are all very similar images as I only had about 5 seconds to rattle off some captures when this bird came down to my level.

Excellent image! Now could you clone out that annoying tiny hair that's sticking out from the wing in #s 2 & 3? ; D

You know Frank I could lie and say I wanted to present the bird in it's entirety, but fact of the matter is I was so smitten with the captures I missed that errant hair/feather all together :-). Thanks for your gracious comment too.

Punk Lester? I barely got enough crest at all! Thanks for your comments as always.

Much appreciated Al. They are neat birds that unfortunately are most often admired at a distance.

Thanks John! The backyard list grew by 1 that I never thought I'd capture.

Haha Dave, I think this one took it's cue from the RB Grosbeak I was waiting on and split quickly. I appreciate your comment very much.

Many thanks Clay! I got lucky with the sidelight/backlight, but I think it displays the coloration in an interesting way.
