New for this female Mason Bee at least, this is actually the second year that I've put this solitary bee house out. Really happy to have two different species of solitary bee nesting in it (Leaf Cutter is filling cells as I type this).

Tech Specs: Canon 70D (F16, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (about 2x) + a diffused MT-24EX (both flash heads on Kaiser adjustable flash shoes). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held.

Technique: I spotted this critter sleeping early in the morning and waited for the sun to warm her up enough so she could get active. Once she came to the entrance I looked for interesting compositions and took a lot of frames.

Thanks :)

I'll have to take a shot of it and get it up on my gallery. Or a video of the girls flying in and out of it.
