So I'm looking to start an X series system to complement my Canon gear, and maybe replace it. I'm looking for opinions on the differences between the XE-1, XE-2, and X-Pro 1 . The XT-1 is off the table price wise right now.

Looking to go for a small system, probably body and 2 lenses to start out. Is the savings on a used XE-1 or X-Pro 1 the way to go, or is the extra money for the XE-2 worth it?

I started six months ago with a x-pro and am happy although the x-t1 is tempting me.

For me it was an X-E1 second hand with adaptors for my old lenses. If I was going to use it for AF I try for the X-E2 though, much better. I've used my X-E1 for work and it's great. X-pro 1 is really nice but bigger and the AF is not so good.

I also shoot with a X-T1 and that EVF is as good as they say but I miss the small rangefinder feel just a little bit. Interested to hear what two lenses you are thinking of?

I biught a xe1 about 6 months ago to just try Fuji, , and then upgraded to a xe2. You can get a mint xe2 body for less than $600, and in the xe2 you get a newer engine, faster focus, face detection, less view finder lag, and also wifi. On the used market the difference between these two is probably 250-300 now, and is worth it.

I have since sold all my Canon gear(canon guy for over 20yrs), and have a xe2, and also a x100s, I shoot Straight out of camera jpegs now and love it. If your not shooting sports, these are great systems.

Thank you all for your input. To start, I'll probably go with the 35mm f/1.4 or the touit 32mm f/1.8 first. I have a collection of legacy glass I can adapt as well (55/105/135), so I may pick up something wider to go with the 35.

You'll love using your old glass on it, took a bit of getting use to but my hand finally started to remember to start [pre]focusing for distance. The 8mm Samy is a lot of fun & the fisheye-hemi plugin works great, if that's your kinda thing. Tis very wide though. Still have to get a few primes for mine but I have plenty for the 5D, so opted for the xf 16-55 2.8 with the X-T1. Hard to know what I'd need in XF lenses yet.

If you plan to use manual focus / legacy glass, then X-t1 may be the way to go....

Thanks everyone- found a good deal on the XE-2 ($525) so I went with that. The upgrade EVF lag is what sold it- and the better autofocus options will be nice to have as well.

The XE-2, 35mm f/1.4 and an adapter for my M42 glass is on it's way- they should be here by the end of the week.

I did see the XT10 announcement- if I decide to go with an all Fuji setup,I may add it later as my primary and keep the XE-2 as the backup.

X-T10 & X-E2 are different styles of cameras, one SLR type and one Rangefinder type. In many ways I prefer shooting the [my] X-E1 to the X-T1. Although the size of the X-T1 viewfinder is truly awesome. I get the feeling there will be a X-Pro2 in my future or maybe a X-E2(3)

So my camera was delivered today- but lens and adapter won't be here until tomorrow. I guess I"ll charge the battery and read the manual...

The bummer of online ordering vs in store pickup.

Congrats, check to make sure you, have latest firmware on it. Xe2 with the 35mm is a great combo, I have that and a 18-55, and also a x100s
