Judo, I appreciate your desire to keep things positive and on the up & up. However, I don't think GFB's advice was given without malice or intent to antagonize. Truth be told--I think its good advice. A lot of times when getting into a new hobby or a new area of a hobby its tempting to skimp--like a tripod. However, the adage "buy nice or buy twice" and "buy once, cry once" are around for good reason. Sometimes I need to hear such words.. and yes, I do want to save on the purchase--save BIG if possible

I was curt before but I'm glad you get my point. Bags are a worthwhile investment as they protect and transport your gear. While sales are nice, it's better to get what you need. Most on here have invested a fair amount into their gear. Better to protect it well now. Whichever you decide is obviously fine for you, but just throwing in my two cents. I've owned, Domke, Think Tank, Lowepro, Billingham, F-Stop and probably a few others I'm forgetting. Each serves their own purpose but I did realize if I cheaped out I ended up spending more in the long run. So, go for what will work for you and try to avoid cheapening your purchase.
