Anyone has experience with a third party alternative to canons overpriced OC-E3 cord?
Which one? Do you recommend it?
Or do you recommend to go for canon original?

They've all had a reasonable amount of use over several years, all roughly equal, and all have proved totally satisfactory with never a misfire. Basically, I just use the first one that comes to hand irrespective of any thought of make. I certainly can't offer any valid reason to get the rather pricey Canon original over either of those alternatives. Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

(2 edits in all) | Yes for macro setups the ETTL cord clones can the best option - more reliable connections than PC screw-lock types. The OC - E3 can be a little short - it was intended for over-the-lens type brackets.

I REALLY don't like having cords coming off the camera though.
