Greetings everyone!

I'll be shooting a bikini contest this weekend. It's going to be after 6PM and will be dark.

I don't usually shoot events.

Any tips and tricks is appreciated!

Cheers!!!

Yes sir will do. I'm thinking of doing a Main and a kicker. I don't have much experience with doing events so I'm kinda thinking on how will I set my lights.

Can you get to the site to review it first to get an idea in your head?

Three lights. One main and two kickers or sidelights, depending on space.

I just found out that they are going to make it indoors. Don't know the lighting situation there

3 lights as Jim said. As far as flashes power, you'll have to play with them to figure them out. No venue or location is the same.

If I remember it correctly, my kicker bare flashes were zoomed all the way out. Main flash was shooting through umbrella as you can see from #2 below.

Please keep in mind that my works are nothing comparing to Pro's here, I just want to share what I did. Hope it could help....!

I don't think so Amadauss. I think it was with the Brick, 24-70 v1 and cropped a lot.

Tigerkn, those photos are REALLY good...I'd assume the lighting conditions were pretty crazy as well.

So what'd you do for the last group photos, did you drag your umbrella up to the stage...or something else?

Thank you Agrandeexpression! I appreciate your kind words.
Last 2 shots were taken off stage as it has the same backdrop. Two bare side lights and third light was shoot through umbrella, straight on as umbrella was right above me.
