I snagged the Canon hood. It's pretty sweet, and bayonet style, so that makes it even better. The only difference I've ever noticed in 3rd party hoods is that they aren't matte finish on the inside, but that has never been a problem for me.....this image was taken with the 50 1.8 STM. Definitely the best Canon 50 I've owned to date...

Already posted this in the pet section but I thought some may like to see it here. I usually shoot around 2.8 and that is what most of these are. They were also shot in servo mode. keeper rate was pretty low. It's not super fast focus but for $125, it did pretty well! Definitely better in that aspect than MY old nifty was.

Just a few random photos of our two guests over the weekend!
Raelyn is a 6yr old boxer mix and Tug is a 8 yr old Golden Retriever. Our 4.5 yr old American Akita, Maximus loves having them over. Raelyn is his girl. He follows her around and cuddles her at night (he doesn't let any dogs cuddle up to him).
I didn't take any of Maximus because we already have a million photos of him. There are photos of him in my gallery if you want to see him!

#2 I checked out that "hot pixel" in this shot but I did not see it in any other shots. There was a lot of dust flying around from the abnormally dry week, so I'm guessing that's just what it was.

Finally got out with mine, & used it for what I bought it for. The AF is brilliant. Never missed all night. Only wish it was stabilized as well :) Would happily pay the extra for that.
