So.... I dropped my 50L  from the couch to the floor it didn't even fall 2.5 feet. But now it focuses from minimum focus distance to about 10 feet and it stops. This happens both manually and with autofocus. I've already sent canon an email for a repair estimate but I'm waiting to hear back. Has anyone had an issue similar to this and how much did it end up costing you?

I guess its time to show the 35L some love.

Use Magic Lantern Focus Peaking feature and manually focus from Live View.

i don't think canon will give you an estimate without actually inspecting the lens...usually you have to send it in, and then they'll send you an invoice and you decide if you want to proceed or not

I suppose the floor was hard?

It is both in AF and manual focus mode - so this will not help to focus more than 10 feet away.

I dropped my lens a few years back on concrete and emailed Canon .... they said... "send it in so we can give you an estimate." I damaged the mounting ring and spent $250.00 Price you pay to have it usable again OR just leave it and use it as a big paperweight.

If it blocks manual focus too, then probably something is dented or bent in the lens.
