You might want to check out 1/4 CTS (color temp straw)

And yeah, the kicker can be tricky. Once you get it far enough behind you that it doesn't hit your nose (with head turned slightly camera left) it starts to get into lens flare area. A grid or flag would be necessary. Putting it up higher and pointed down helps a bit, especially with a subject wearing a collared shirt to avoid a weird neck shadow.

Hrm,

I have a honey comb grid for speedlites, a small one. Might help direct it from a better angle, without hitting the lens. Will give it a shot!

Thanks!

Very best,

Heya,

So I have the Fotodiox EZ-Pro 48" Octa now. Seems pretty good.

The beauty dish attachment that came with it seems kind of useless. It doesn't really bolt on or anything, just sits, so downward angles seem odd. Not really sure what to do with this attachment. Will have to just test things I guess and see how it performs. I would think the inner baffle and outer baffle would spread it out enough. But I guess we'll see.

Any thoughts on the beauty dish would be appreciated.

Still waiting for the RoveLight to come back from Adorama. I've been quoted 10 to 14 days at this point. And then another quote that a new shipment would be here Monday, and then ship out after that. So I guess it's a waiting game regardless.

Very best,
