Just got this lens and I really like it for travel. Nothing beats a prime lens and I love my primes but this is just to convenient. Plus this copy is super sharp.

I agree, this lens is a hidden gem, it's extraordinary when it comes to travel, or street. BUT I too am very attached to my primes, and this lens cannot even come near a prime lens. BUT it's still a phenomenal lens.

I'm out of ideas on how to make this shot look "cool".

This is my first attempt at street photography. How did I do?

Not bad, just seems like he's been standing there bored. If and when you have time check this out:

Hope that helps in your future street photography excursions.

I'm planning to buy this lens, after seeing your above image, I'm impressed but on lots of forums, I read that 24-105 has very strong lens flare. What is your opinion ?

I never noticed it being any worse than any other wide angle zoom.

^^What he said, have had mine for three years and not one picture has lens flare. Lots of other problems but they are all caused by the guy behind the camera not the lens.

Suggestions welcome.

+1 to gonzogolf's and Calicajun's comments. When this lens was first released several years ago, it was known to have some sort of flare flaw.
You can read about it by CLICKING HERE (external link). The flare issue is discussed about 1/2 way down the page. I have never noticed anything abnormal with this lens vs. any other lens in real world usage.
