Keep threatening myself to go all primes, but it's just too damn handy in walkaround situations. And it does a sterling job as well.

Oh boy - it's a little disconcerting to realize that sometimes if you stare at your screen long enough that some things begin to appear normal! Pulling the color cast out of shots with the Hitech 10-Stop has always been a challenge, although I didn't do a proper WB correction on it before I started playing with it. Looking at it now, you're absolutely right - holy green screens! I'll revisit that and see if i can't make it a tad more "normal"! Another shot from the same outing - with a bit more correction to the WB:

Hey Ken...no offense OK. I am almost certain you know this tip. I keep forgetting this quite often myself. I wish I could modify the camera sensor cleaning message with the following:

Don't forget to adjust your WB...LOOK UP!!!

LOOK UP as in depending on your sky set your WB (not auto). You will never ever have to fiddle with WB in post again. And even if you forget to set it to another sky the next day/days/week and the entire shoot is off.....you have to adjust/correct just one photo and with a single click (at least in LR) they are all perfect.

OK Ok end of lecture...sorry, but maybe somebody else finds this useful.

Cheers.

BoKO - absolutely no offense taken whatsoever, and no need to apologize for passing on some great tips/reminders. I really like the idea of being able to add your own reminder message to the Sensor Clean message - that'd be great! I was so focused on exposure times with the 10stop that I forgot to take a WB reading. The Hitech 10stop ND's are really quite a chore to get the color casting out of in post - at least for me it is. Anyways, I won't flood this thread with revised corrections, however I was able to get it looking a manner in which I liked. Keep posting great tips like those - none of us claims to know everything!

Hey, Ken, I've been interacting with a bunch of shooters and a number have had issues with that color cast with the HiTech filters. If you shoot Raw and can "fix" it with the White Balance adjustment, fine, although I'm not satisfied because a color "cast" is affecting your Raw data...

People have better results with the Lee filters, and then there are a lot of people who are becoming quite happy with I believe it's the Haida brand, no color casts@
