Feed back on this picture? The contrast is dropped way down to give it a different look.

it has good impact the way it is

tho I might try to remove a bit of the black limb in the middle top... it takes the eye away from what he's looking at

Maybe crop out the space to the right side of the tree too - that bright area is a distraction.

I agree it needs to be cropped. I would lose the entire tree.

Thanks for the feedback, I did not notice that branch at first but I agree with you!

I like the tree there myself, but for sure cut out the top branch hanging and the white to the right of the tree.

To each jis own, to me it simply,ly diminishes the subject without adding anything, but then you like the wheres waldo look.

For me the image is scenery, first thing i gaze to is the view, then i see the person and picture myself there, under the shade of a tree enjoying a beer and the view!

I think you did a good job. A lot of people overdo contrast on b and w photos. You found a happy medium. As stated above though the branch is distracting. Although I didn't see it until somebody mentioned it. Very nice shot n

Ditto. For me it creates a scene looking out upon a scene. And besides, where would the shade come from if not from the tree? The branch at the top is good...it gives the sense of the expanse of that old tree's canopy. :)

The top branch should be cloned out, but the tree to the right (and the space to the right of it) need to stay to provide a more interesting scene.

I'm seeing some noise and softness issues as well here.

Cheers,

Jeff

I still think the limb should be left. Maybe if you want to see a complete treeline on the horizon the limb could be cloned out, but I'm not seeing that as the scene. The scene that I see is the guy kicked back contemplating the past/future/present while taking a needed break from everyday survival. I feel that that guy and his immediate environment (tree, limb, bench) is the subject...the lake/wetland and distant tree line simply create the background upon which he is (apparently) gazing into. Of course, all of my interpretive thoughts could be moot and the shooter was simply catching a friend who is so plastered that he doesn't now what state of the union he is currently in and had to find somewhere to sit down.

...the eye of the beholder. ;)
